Everyone's Got a Story- An Introduction

You wake up in the morning and you get dressed, you brush your teeth, shower, eat, and head out the door.
You go to work from 9 to 5 and you're home by 6. 7 if the traffic was bad.
You sit with your family and eat dinner.
You clean up, maybe shower again, brush, shave, and get ready for bed.
Then you wake up the next morning and you do it all over again.

This is your life. Its routine, mundane, like a broken record at times. Maybe, one of these days, you might think to live a bit dangerously and decide you and your family will go out to dinner today as opposed to eating inside. But that's it. Right? Right? Or so you think. *insert winky face smiley here*

Lets take a look at the story I just mentioned but this time, me, as a writer, will add my own little flair to it. I'll even make it a bit personal just for you.

I woke up in the morning and I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. This new toothpaste is called "optic white" and I even bought the "optic white" brush to complement it so I can attempt to have super white teeth. But here I am 6 months later and not much of an improvement.

I work from 9-1, but today its predicted to be really busy and I will probably have to stay until 5pm. See, I work in a theme park.
I came back home and now my mom and I are going to sit and marathon like 5 of the shows we watch. She doesn't know much about the shows when we first started but we like spending time together. Even though we might not say it outright.

Did you notice the difference a bit more with my story? Sure it was a little more detailed but it was essentially the same thing. Yeah maybe you didn't care about me trying to get whiter teeth, or that I work in a theme park, or my mom and I watch TV together but perhaps you formulated ideas, thoughts, assumptions, about me.

"Oh he cares about white teeth. He must be superficial." or maybe I just care about my dental hygiene because I don't have dental insurance and I haven't for a while.

Look at that! You learned a little more about me again.

"Oh he works at a theme park! he must hate his job. I know people who work at Disneyland and they hate working there." Nope not me, I love my job, its easy and I make people happy because I take their pictures and capture their happy moments when they are in the park.

Oh look you learned more about me!

See the point is this: Everyone has a story. Everyone, on their own personal level, think they have a routine, mundane, boring life. But if you really think about it. You, or me, or your neighbor you hate, your in-laws, whom you hate more or maybe even love more. Who knows?  We all got to where we are right now, through a series of near infinite circumstances and choices.

Why do you hate your neighbor? Because he doesn't know how to park for crap and always is 18 inches from the curb with his tires out and thereby blocking off a majority of the thin street you live on with his huge F-350?? Because he's a jerk for doing so? Or maybe its because he is a veteran and as such parks a little further from the driveway in case he has to leave in a hurry because he thinks his house will be shelled by insurgents just like what happened to him in Iraq in the dead of night where he lost three friends. Or who knows, maybe he IS just a jerk.

Again, the point is you don't know. Everyone has got a reason for doing what they do because something has happened in their life and affected them in some way. Doesn't have to be a negative effect per se but it can be.

Everyone's got a reason and every one's got a story. I have been thinking about this recently in my day to day life and as I started thinking more about it I figured, well why not? Why not share my opinions online with people. If they care to read it thank you and if they don't well thank you anyway. I want an outlet for my thoughts to go on and that's why I started this blog.

If you have read this far I offer you my thanks for giving me some of your time. Who knows maybe I will do more! That is the point of a blog right?

For now, if you do feel like you should take something away from this, do so. I won't tell you what you should take away from this, rather, I would like you to tell me.

What did you think? Why do you think that? Maybe you might wanna ask yourself the question "What is my story?" Yeah, you live a life day to day but think more about it. What choices did you make? What circumstances were you put in? Did you come out stronger for it? Weaker? Did you learn something about yourself? Others? Who knows what you will uncover!

Just think about it.
